What an incredible and inspiring week it’s been, spending time across our community—not as a professional but as a neighbour. I’ve had the chance to visit local projects, community centres, churches, sheltered housing complexes, pubs, neighbourhood cafés and restaurants. Along the way, I’ve met new people, made meaningful connections, and listened to the hopes, concerns, and everyday realities of those who call this place home.
What’s struck me most is the quiet dedication of ordinary people who care deeply about building a sense of belonging. Their commitment to creating community—not from a place of authority, but from lived experience—has truly moved me.
This week has been a powerful reminder that real change grows through relationships—by walking with people, not doing things to or for them. The stories I’ve heard and the insights shared will stay with me for a long time.
